A great spiritual event took place at a Kenyan village church late last month.

Locals have been turning to holy Orthodoxy all across Africa for years now, and mass Baptisms have become a common occurrence. One of the latest occurred at the Church of the Holy Apostle Barnabas in the village of Aorachuodo on February 23, reports the Russian Orthodox Church’s African Exarchate.

On that day, three priests—the rector Fr. George Okello, local dean Fr. Angelos Oribe, and Fr. Evlogy Oyaia—came together to celebrate the Divine Liturgy for the Sunday of the Last Judgment.

The service was attended by parishioners and children from the parish’s children’s educational center.

And following the Liturgy, the priests celebrated the holy Sacraments of Baptism and Chrismation, with 23 adults and children being brought into the Church.

All had undergone catechism to prepare to be baptized.
