CALABAR (CONVERSEER) – The Governor of Cross River State, Sen. Bassey Otu, on Saturday received the Muslim community in the state in his private home in Calabar.
The visit, Converseer learned, was in celebration of this year’s Sallah.
They endorsed Otu for a second term, saying he should complete his 8 years as a Governor of the state just like his predecessors.
Recall that Muslims all over the country are celebrating the Eid al-Adha.
Eid al-Adha is the second of the two main festivals in Islam alongside Eid al-Fitr. It falls on the 10th of Dhu al-Hijja, the twelfth and final month of the Islamic calendar.
Celebrations and observances are generally carried forward to the three following days, known as the Tashreeq days.
