Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has officially secured the Peoples Democratic Party’s ticket for the 2027 Kogi Central Senatorial election after receiving her Certificate of Return from the party on Wednesday.
The certificate was presented at the PDP National Secretariat in Abuja by party leaders, including Abdulrahman Mohammed and Samuel Anyanwu, formally confirming her candidacy for the upcoming election.
Speaking after the presentation, Akpoti-Uduaghan described the certificate as a symbol of the confidence reposed in her by party members and supporters, pledging to continue serving the people with dedication and integrity.
She reaffirmed her commitment to effective representation, good governance, and policies aimed at improving the welfare of Nigerians, while calling for unity within the PDP ahead of the 2027 polls.
The senator urged party members and supporters to remain focused on grassroots mobilisation and issue-based campaigns, stressing that Nigerians expect leaders who will prioritize development, accountability, justice, and economic opportunities.
Akpoti-Uduaghan, who currently represents Kogi Central in the Senate, said the PDP must continue to engage citizens and demonstrate its readiness to address the country’s social and economic challenges through people-centred policies.
Her receipt of the Certificate of Return signals the formal start of her renewed campaign as she seeks another term in the Senate, setting the stage for what is expected to be a keenly contested race in Kogi Central.
