30 Refugees trained in soap making in Cross River

Not less than 30 refugees have graduated from from the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons, NCFRMI Soap Making Training in Cross River State.

Start-up kits, take-off grants as well of certifications were also presented to the refugees at the graduation ceremony held on Friday, 26 January 2024, at the Conference Room, Federal Secretariat, Calabar, the state capital.

The training was organised by NCFRMI, in partnership with Waffles Integrated Com. Ltd.

Presenting certificates to the trained refugees, Dr Helen Isamoh-Egodo, Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation in the state, acknowledged the transformative power of education and skill acquisition in empowering displaced persons to build their lives and create a better future for themselves.

She noted that “Through the training, the refugees have acquired valuable skills that will not only enable them to generate income but also foster economic growth and social integration within the host communities.”

Isamoh-Egodo further expressed her gratitude to NCFRMI for their unwavering commitment to improving the lives of refugees and to Waffles Integrated Com Ltd., for their efforts in providing the refugees with opportunities for skill development and self-sufficiency.

The Commissioner urged the beneficiaries to use their newfound knowledge and skills not only to improve their own lives but also those of others within their communities.
