Louis Vuitton’s chairman maintains top spot, Musk second as Forbes releases 2024 global billionaires list

Forbes released the 2024 Global Billionaires List on April 2. Data shows that the wealth of billionaires continues to expand.

According to the report, there are currently more billionaires than ever before: 2,781 in total, 141 more than last year and 26 more than the record set in 2021. They are also wealthier than ever, with total assets of $14.2 trillion, up $2 trillion from 2023 and $1.1 trillion above the previous record set in 2021.

The United States now has a record 813 billionaires, worth a total of $5.7 trillion; mainland China is second with 406 billionaires, worth a total of $1.33 trillion; India has a record 200 billionaires, Ranked third.
