Forbes released the 2024 Global Billionaires List on April 2. Data shows that the wealth of billionaires continues to expand.
According to the report, there are currently more billionaires than ever before: 2,781 in total, 141 more than last year and 26 more than the record set in 2021. They are also wealthier than ever, with total assets of $14.2 trillion, up $2 trillion from 2023 and $1.1 trillion above the previous record set in 2021.
The United States now has a record 813 billionaires, worth a total of $5.7 trillion; mainland China is second with 406 billionaires, worth a total of $1.33 trillion; India has a record 200 billionaires, Ranked third.

Elon Musk still ranks second this time, with a personal wealth of approximately US$195 billion. Although this figure increased by 8% from last year, due to the decline in Tesla stock prices, this figure is far lower than its previous high of US$300 billion. With the highest personal wealth in the world, Musk is also the first rich man in the world with a personal wealth of US$300 billion.
In addition, Nvidia co-founder Huang Jenxun has become the richest man in China with a personal fortune of US$77 billion, ranking 20th on the overall list.
This year’s list welcomed a total of 265 new faces, including fashion designer Christian Louboutin ($1.2 billion); NBA legend “Magic” Johnson ($1.2 billion); television producer Dick Woo Golf ($1.2 billion); pop singer Taylor Swift, who became a billionaire through concert tours and concert videos ($1.1 billion); and OpenAI’s Sam Altman ($1 billion), etc.
