…we’ve recorded 100% cure in most of the ailments that orthodox medicine could not – Dr Archibong
In the era where orthodox medicine can’t seem to find a cure for life-threatening illnesses like haemorrhoids (pile), prostate, diabetes, asthma, kidney stone, cancer, fibroid, epilepsy, bone fracture/dislocation/setting, etc, Arthur Jarvis University (AJU) Institute of Trado-Medical Research now has the answer.
According to Sir Dr Arthur Jarvis Archibong, Chancellor of AJU, said the Institute of Trado-Medical Research has recorded 100% cure for some of the aforementioned ailments.
“The intention of the institute is not to make claims but empirical results.
“We’ve recorded 100% cure in some of these ailments we mentioned above. We have recorded success in some of the ailments that orthodox medicine has failed to.
“We are happy to announce to our community and the world at large that our well-equipped Institute of Trado-Medical Research at our University campus, in Akpabuyo LGA, Cross River State, Nigeria is open for the treatment of individuals diagnosed with any of these life-threatening illnesses as mentioned earlier, while we research,” Archibong said.
Archibong disclosed this on Wednesday during a press conference in Calabar to mark the commissioning of the Institute of Trado-Medical Research at the Arthur Jarvis University campus in Akpabuyo Local Government Area of Cross River State.
He said the institute which started three years ago is aimed at promoting local content and using herbs to treat sicknesses family with the African climate.

“As part of our efforts to promote local content, the Governing Council of Arthur Jarvis University had approved the construction and equipping of a standard Institute of Trado-Medical Research within the University Campus.
“The Institute will make use of the wide range of herbs from the surrounding forest resources around the University community and the available Traditional Medical Practitioners within and around our locality to treat some of the life-threatening illnesses like haemorrhoids (pile), prostate, diabetes, asthma, kidney stone, cancer, fibroid, epilepsy, bone fracture/dislocation/setting, etc,” he said.
The Chancellor stated further that “This action is in line with the Federal Government’s vision through the establishment of the Department of Traditional, Complimentary & Alternative Medicine (CAM) under the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare as approved by the Head of Service in a letter referenced OHCSF/MSO/72/IV/132 and dated 4th April 2018. The memo has three clear mandates viz:
- To develop, implement and monitor compliance with policies and initiate legislation relating to traditional, complementary & alternative medicine as well as provide related services.
- To promote the development and commercialisation of indigenous Nigerian Traditional Medicine
- To integrate traditional, complementary & alternative medicine into the national health care system.
“From the academic point of view, the National University Commission (NUC) has already captured Complimentary & Alternative Medicine (CAM) among courses for the Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences under the CCMAS, to train graduates on how to integrate Traditional, Complimentary & Alternative Medicine into the National Health Care System.
“We thank the Almighty God for the enablement and pray for God’s guidance in the management of this Institute.”
On his part, the Acting Vice Chancellor of Arthur Jarvis University, Dr Josephe Edet, said the university exists basically for research.
He added that “The institute is a research grown where academics and traditional leaders come together to work out a solution for health. There will be no going to the shrine.”
CONVERSEER reports that Arthur Jarvis University being the premier private university in Cross River State licensed by the Federal Government of Nigeria, commenced academic activities in 2017. The institution has grown to a population of more than 1,000 students in four faculties and has graduated four sets of students who have already completed the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme.
