A Nigerian student known as Emmanuel Ahmadu who failed O’level exams comprising of WAEC, NECO, NABTEB, JAMB, WAEC GCE, and NECO GCE altogether 17 exams in 5 years, has successfully bagged two doctorate degrees (PhDs) in the United States.
In a chat with CONVERSEER, Ahmadu said, “I didn’t actually write WAEC 17 times as being speculated but O’level exams comprising of WAEC, NECO, NABTEB, JAMB, WAEC GCE, and NECO GCE altogether 17 exams in 5 years space as a result of being a victim of broken homes from age 5, but I chose not to allow my background to put my back on the ground.
“All glory to God Almighty for being a source of hope to others globally today. I’m currently teaming up with brands/human service agencies and individual champions who have survived through different struggles for global collaboration in fostering mental health awareness among children, teens, and youths in a bid to foster hope, resilience and community to tackle the high trend of depression and suicide globally.”
In a telephone interview with NAN on Sunday, Ahmadu urged youths to remain resilient and never lose hope, regardless of the challenges they face.
According to Ahmadu, who is also known as ‘Mr Voiceover’, dedication and a strong belief in oneself are crucial in overcoming adversity.
“Seek out opportunities for growth, leverage available resources, and connect with mentors and supportive networks.
“Remember, every setback is a setup for a greater comeback.
“Keep pushing forward, and your efforts will eventually yield success,” he said.
“My story is a beacon of hope for youths facing similar challenges, inspiring them to rise above their circumstances and make meaningful impacts in their communities and beyond.
“I first gained international attention in 2018 as the International Award for Student Brand of the Year in West Africa while studying at the University of Benin (UNIBEN),” he added.

Reacting to the news, most Nigerians feel the massive failure in the West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) exam is due to the low standard of education and the body’s deliberate act to fail the students.
