Oshodi-Isolo LG Chairman Oloyede to Rename Liverpool Road After Seyi Tinubu

Oshodi-Isolo, Lagos – All is now set for the renaming of Liverpool Road in Oshodi-Isolo Local Government after Nigeria’s President’s son Amb. Seyi Tinubu.

The council chairman, Otunba Kehinde Almaroof Oloyede said the decision to rename the road after Amb. Seyi Tinubu is borne out of his immense contributions to youth and community development.

Recall that the Liverpool Road was abinitio in a total shamble but was resuscitated by the executive chairman on assumption of office.

Otunba Oloyede, who, on the assumption of office, saw the need to reconstruct the road, which had been an abode to touts and criminal elements, harbouring dangerous weapons and fomenting troubles within the council area. The road was a lion’s den as no one could dare pass it either during the day or at night.

The narrative has, however, been changed as Otunba Oloyede went to work immediately to reconstruct it, leading to chasing away all bad eggs hitherto using the roads as a hideout.

The road is also strategic to Oshodi as it is one of the major roads linking the popular Oshodi/Apapa Express Way, connecting the international airport.

Since the repair of the road, motorists and pedestrians now move freely and it is aiding easy movement of goods and services.

Aside from the reconstruction exercise by Otunba Oloyede, the beautification and installation of solar streetlights have also been completed.

According to a statement from the council chairman’s media office, the road would soon be commissioned and renamed in Seyi Tinubu’s honour at a date to be announced.
