In a statement issued on Tuesday by Kimiebi Ebienfa, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nigeria expressed optimism about fostering stronger strategic cooperation with the United States under President Trump’s leadership. The government highlighted mutual interests such as promoting good governance, sustainable development, and combating terrorism and violent extremism.
“Nigeria and the United States of America have enjoyed cooperation in diverse areas of mutual interest, especially in the promotion of good governance, sustainable development, and the fight against terrorism and violent extremism,” the statement read.
Nigeria’s message also underscored the importance of collaboration in addressing pressing global challenges. “Nigeria looks forward to further strengthening our historic, strong, and vibrant strategic partnership for the benefit of all our people,” the statement continued, signaling hopes for deeper ties that could promote mutual growth and prosperity.
