Nigerian singer Darlington Achakpo Okoye popularly known as Speed Darlington or AKP has revealed a conversation he had with a policeman who rebuked him for releasing his new track ‘Baby Oil’.

Speed Darlington opened up on the conversation he had with the security operative while he was in police custody in a post shared on his Instagram page.

According to him, the policeman said that he (Speed Darlington) should not have released the song immediately after he was released from detention following his arrest initiated by Burna Boy over alleged defamation of his character.

He said; “A police man told me that this song pained you so much. That why did they release me only for me to come out and release another song. And I asked the police officer, ‘are you mentally OK?’ Won’t I do music again? I’m an artist.”

His post comes hours after Stan Alieke, the lawyer representing the musician Stan Alieke, announced that he has parted ways with the controversial singer.

In a post shared on his Instagram page on Sunday night, the Abuja-based lawyer disclosed that he and his law firm has officially withdrawn from representing Speed Darlington.

However, Stan Alieke who represented Speed Darlington in his protracted legal battle with Grammy Award-winning musician Burna Boy did not disclose why he had decided to take the decision.
