A viral video shows a male suspect dressed in black being swarmed by members of the U.S. Secret Service on Monday after attempting to scale the security fence around the White House.
According to Fox 5, the male suspect was recorded scaling the security fence located on the South Grounds of the White House on Monday.
In the video, which was shared by a tourist on X, formerly Twitter, the suspect can be seen dressed in a full black outfit and quickly making his way toward the security fence. Upon reaching the fence, the suspect can be seen climbing the fence as one witness says, “Bro, what are they waiting on?”
Later in the video, the suspect appeared to get caught on the spikes installed on the top of the security fence. After getting caught on the top of the fencing, the suspect climbed back down, where he was immediately swarmed and arrested by U.S. Secret Service agents.

The tourist who recorded the video, identified by Fox 5 as David Stanley, tweeted, “Saw this pretty surreal thing at the White House today. This man walked by my wife and I as we were taking pics of the White House. He walked by us and said ‘F$ck it’ and started crossing barriers until he reached the White House fence. Seeing the snipers on top scurrying around and dogs racing out on the lawn was wild.”
According to Fox 5, law enforcement officials have not yet revealed the suspect’s identity or his motive for attempting to climb over the fencing surrounding the White House. The outlet noted that it is also not clear if the unidentified man recorded in the video will face any charges for attempting to scale the fence.
Following Monday’s incident outside the White House, a Secret Service spokesman told The Daily Mail, “The White House complex is secured by a combination of uniformed officers, special agents, mission support personnel, and advanced protective systems that ensure continuous vigilance across its 18 acres.”
The Secret Service spokesman added, “In line with standard Secret Service protocol, this incident – including security measures and response – will undergo a protective operations review by the agency.”
