For the first time since the passing of Ghanaian highlife icon Daddy Lumba, the public has caught a glimpse of the legendary musician’s final resting place, bringing an end to months of speculation over where he was buried.

On Sunday, July 27, 2026, family members gathered at the late musician’s East Legon residence to commemorate the first anniversary of his death.

The private memorial also coincided with the performance of widowhood rites for his second wife, Odo Broni, making the occasion an emotional moment for close relatives and loved ones.

Videos from the gathering have since surfaced on social media, revealing the late singer’s tomb for the first time. Contrary to widespread speculation, Daddy Lumba was laid to rest in a specially designated room inside his family home rather than in an outdoor cemetery or compound.

The memorial room has been carefully designed to celebrate the remarkable legacy of one of Ghana’s greatest musical icons.

Framed photographs capturing different stages of Daddy Lumba’s illustrious career adorn the walls, while several of the prestigious awards he earned over the decades are proudly displayed throughout the space.

One of the room’s most touching features is a television continuously playing the late musician’s classic music videos, allowing family members and visitors to relive some of his most memorable performances while paying their respects beside his tomb.

The emotional footage has attracted widespread attention online, with many Ghanaians commending the family for honouring the highlife legend in a dignified and meaningful manner.

Others noted that the video has finally settled the long-running debate surrounding the location of Daddy Lumba’s burial, which had remained a subject of public discussion since his passing.
