A former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara has enumerated a list of things President Bola Tinubu has to achieve to be able to get the votes of the people on Bauchi State come 2027 elections.

Among others, he told Tinubu to revisit the issue of oil exploration as discovered in Bauchi State in order to gain the attention of the people and win their votes in 2027 general elections.

Dogara spoke while speaking at the commissioning of a road project in Toro LGA of Bauchi State as undertaken by the Senator representing Bauchi South Senatorial District, Shehu Buba Umar at the weekend.

The former Speaker also called for the construction of the much sort after Bagel dam in Dass LGA of the state which he believes would open up the area, create sources of employment for the population and increase revenue generation opportunities.

Dogara stated that, “Your know we Legislators have a way of doing our jobs, I will put two questions to you, all those in support should say Ye and those against say Nay.”

He asked, “Do you support that if President Bola Ahmed Tinubu awards and commences the Bagel Dam and revisit the oil exploration in Bauchi State, he does not need to come for campaigns in Bauchi State for the 2027 presidential campaign as we will all vote for him?”

The crowd answered Ye and he hit the gavel signifying acceptance of the people explaining that those two projects are very vital to the growth and development of the state and must be done.

According to him,”If done, the Bagel multipurpose Dam will generate electricity power for all the LGAs in Bauchi South Senatorial District” a development he said will lead to economic activities in the area and the State by extention.

On the oil exploration, Yakubu Dogara believes that if the state joins the oil producing states of the country, there will be more revenue allocation through derivation while more revenue generation sources will be opened.

He then stressed that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), though in opposition in the state is not dead stressing that those having such notion are only deceiving themselves.

According to him, “APC is still alive in Bauchi State, when the time comes, they will realize their mistakes, we will storm the state and take it over. This is not yet time for politicking so, no much talking today.”
