The conference which has the theme: “Towards Increasing Equal Opportunity of Access to Higher Education in Nigeria”, was aimed at boosting the enrollment opportunities of persons with disabilities in the Nigerian tertiary education system.

It is instructive to note that the administration of Prof. Florence Banku Obi has over time among others, given special recognition to persons with disabilities in the University of Calabar. This, in recent times, has earned her an outstanding award of patronship from the group.
