Senegal and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are intensifying efforts to enhance their economic relationship, fostering a more robust and mutually beneficial partnership.

On Wednesday, the UAE Ambassador to Senegal, Saeed Hamdan Alnaqbi , hosted an iftar dinner at his diplomatic residence in Dakar, bringing together several senior figures from the Senegalese media.

The gathering provided an opportunity to discuss the evolving relationship between the UAE and Senegal, Emirati investments in key sectors, and the ambassador’s commitment to strengthening ties with local journalists.

Among the key sectors mentioned, the ambassador spoke about aviation, specifically pilot training at Blaise Diagne International Airport, where an Emirati company is already operating.

Additionally, he noted ongoing collaboration in shipbuilding, aiming to transfer advanced technology and skills to Senegal while working to lower production costs for wooden boats.

Another major initiative he announced was the forthcoming launch of an Emirati company at the Port of Dakar.
