A suspected herder has k!lled a 35-year-old mother of three, Kpadoo Lazarus-Uwua at Imon community in Adudu Chiefdom, Obi Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.

It was gathered that the murd€r of the woman is already causing serious acrimony and condemnation from the chiefdom.

According to the Daily Trust, Kpadoo-Lazarus d!ed in her pool of blood as a result of severe machete cuts from the suspected herder who is said to be a minor.

Uwua, a mother of three was k!lled on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, when a disagreement broke out over fishing activities, with the herder allegedly accusing the mother of three of polluting the water.

When Daily Trust visited the family members of the deceased, Mr Mathew Aondo explained that they are saddened by the ugly incident and urged authorities concerned particularly, Fulani leaders to caution their youths to restraint from heinous acts capable of pitching other ethnic groups against them.

Expressing displeasure with the frequent k!llings of their community members by suspected herders, Youth leader of Imon Community, Comrade Samuel Ortserga condemned the act, noting that the arrest of the suspect was not enough.

While appreciating the collaborative efforts of the Youth leader of Ibuan community and that of Adudu Chiefdom for arresting the suspect and subsequently handing him over to the police, Comrade Aondo appealed to the state government, security agencies to put in place measures to ameliorate the k1llings.

He, however, urged Imon youths to remain calm to allow the law to take its course, noting that their peaceful disposition would not be misconstrued for weakness.

On his part, the Fulani youth leader in Adudu Chiefdom, Saleh Anaruwa expressed grief over the k!lling of a woman while trying to fish for a family meal.
