A staunched supporter of Senator Jarigbe Agom representing Cross River North, Mr Mark Idrah, has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.

CONVERSEER learned that Idrah who has been on the forefront of canvassing support for Jarigbe before becoming a Federal House of Representatives Member and now a Senator, made the decision to leave the PDP earlier this month.

In a resignation letter dated 7 March 2024, Idrah said his decision was on personal terms.

“This is to inform you of my resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Ogoja Urban Ward 1, with effect from the date stated above.

“The reasons for my resignation are personal.

“Forwarded for your information and necessary action.”

When contacted, Idrah confirmed his resignation and defection from the PDP to the APC, saying, “It was a tough decision but I had to.

Adding, “I’ve known the PDP all my life but it is time to move on. I wish the party the best.”

CONVERSEER gathered that Idrah is a man of his word and charisma and was allegedly tempted with appointment by former Governor Ben Ayade but he refused to be bought.

He has a lot of youths and community influence towards building a better Cross River State.

CONVERSEER reports that several members of the PDP have defected to the APC in the last three months in the state, including former Local Government Chairman and Reps Candidate, Hon. Mike Usibe and former two-time State House of Assembly Member, Rt. Hon. Efa Esua.
