Nursing must remain beacon of hope – Gov’s aide tells students

CALABAR (CONVERSEER) – The Special Assistant to the Governor of Cross River State on Nursing, Mr Coco-Bassey Esu, has charged student nurses and midwives to uphold the noble values of the profession and ensure it remains a beacon of hope and healing for future generations.

Mr Esu made the call during the maiden edition of the National Association of Nigeria Student Nurses and Midwives (NANSNM) South South Quiz and Awards event held last week in Calabar.

The event, which drew stakeholders from across the healthcare sector, patrons of the association, and student representatives from the South South geopolitical zone, was aimed at promoting nursing excellence and empowering the next generation of nursing professionals.

He further stressed the importance of sustained investment in nursing education, practice, and research as key pillars to enhance quality care, foster innovation, and strengthen leadership within the sector.
