Ikom Council Boss introduces minibus shuttles to decongest traffic in metropolis

IKOM (CONVERSEER) – The Executive Chairman of Ikom Local Government Area, Pst (Mrs) Mercy Nsor, has introduced minibus shuttle services to decongest traffic.

According to the Chairman, the move will reduce motorcyclist (okada) traffic within the metropolis which has been a menace for decades.

The buses, which were launched on Wednesday, will also reduce the cost of transportation in the area.

The shuttle services span from Ikom main town to other communities, including Etung Local Government Area.

Transport rate has also been set depending on the route.

Below are the approved routes and fares:

1. 4 Corners – Ikom Town = N200
2. Ikom – Okuni = N500
3. Ikom – Alesi = N1,500
4. Ikom – Adijinkpor = N600
5. Ikom – Metropolitan Drop = N200
6. Ikom – Akparabong = N800
7. Ikom – Nde = N700
8. Ikom – Edor = N1,000
9. Ikom – Nkarasi = N1,200
10. Ikom – Effraya = N1,000
11. Ikom – Etome = N1,000
12. Ikom – Ayughasa = N1,500
13. Ikom – Ajassor = N1,000
14. Ikom – Last Motor = N500
15. Ikom – Nkofab = N2,000

Ikom is one of the local government areas in Cross River State with the largest number of motorcycles.
