Former Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Barr. Onofiok Luke, has lauded the operations of Ibom Air as it clocks six years today.
Ibom Air, Nigeria’s leading state-owned airline, is celebrating six years of consistent growth and outstanding services, a milestone that underscores the airline’s emergence as a symbol of Akwa Ibom State’s innovation and resilience.
This milestone has drawn special commendation from Luke for the immediate past Governor of the State, Mr. Udom Emmanuel,CON, whose visionary leadership birthed this ambitious project.
Reflecting on the journey so far, Barr Luke, praised Mr. Emmanuel for his foresight and dedication in establishing Ibom Air during his tenure.
“I must commend His Excellency, our immediate past Governor Mr. Udom Emmanuel, for his visionary leadership in delivering this invaluable venture,” Luke said.
Luke recalled how the idea for Ibom Air was first presented by Mr. Emmanuel and unanimously endorsed by the House of Assembly under his Speakership, saying, “by 2019, the vision became reality as the airline’s first aircraft touched down, ushering in a new era for air travel in the region”.
He also lauded the current Governor, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno Ph.D, for his steadfast commitment to sustaining and expanding upon Ibom Air’s impressive legacy.
”As I boarded Ibom Air this morning, I was moved to profound gratitude to God Almighty. Witnessing an idea conceived years ago not only take flight but thrive brilliantly for six years fills me with pride and fulfillment,” Luke shared.
Luke praised the dedication of Ibom Air’s management and staff, emphasizing their unwavering commitment to excellence in service delivery.
Since its launch, Ibom Air has served millions of passengers across Nigeria and West Africa, consistently providing safe, prompt, and professional service. Its growing fleet and expanding routes have solidified the airline’s position as a trusted carrier and a source of pride for Akwa Ibom State.
