Senator Emmanuel C. Nwachukwu, representing Anambra South Senatorial District in the National Assembly, has celebrated the resilience, creativity and potential of youths across the district as they join the rest of the world to mark the 2026 International Youth Day, while also reaffirming his commitment to women and community development.
In his message to mark International Youth Day, themed “Different Contexts, Common Aspirations,” Senator Nwachukwu acknowledged the enormous contributions of young people to the development of Anambra South, noting that despite differences in background, circumstances and aspirations, young Nigerians share a common desire for opportunity, dignity, inclusion, progress and a better future.
He said: “Our youths may come from different backgrounds, face different realities and pursue different paths, but our aspirations remain common the desire for opportunity, dignity, progress, inclusion and a better future.”
The Senator urged the youths of Anambra South to remain focused, courageous and committed to building the future they desire, assuring them of his continued support for initiatives that promote education, skills development, entrepreneurship, youth empowerment and meaningful opportunities.
According to him, “Your dreams matter, your voices matter, and your future matters.”
The celebration of the district’s youths came as Senator Nwachukwu, popularly known as Onodugo, also joined the women of Orumba South at their 2026 August Meeting, where he was warmly received by the visibly elated women.
The gathering provided an opportunity for the Senator to celebrate the women’s resilience, wisdom, sacrifices and enduring contributions to the development of their families and communities.
Speaking at the occasion, Nwachukwu described women as “bridge-builders, nation-builders and pillars of society,” stressing that their influence extends beyond the home through the values they instil, the generations they nurture and their contributions to community development.
He also commended the women of Orumba South for sustaining the cherished tradition of the August Meeting, describing it as more than a cultural gathering but an important platform for unity, mutual support, reflection and collective community development.
The Senator said such gatherings enable women to strengthen one another, assess the progress of their communities and collectively envision a better future.
He reaffirmed his deep respect and commitment to the women and youths of Anambra South, assuring them that their voices, aspirations and contributions remain central to his representation at the National Assembly.
“Your voices matter, your contributions are valued, and your aspirations remain an important part of my representation,” he said.
Nwachukwu’s engagement with both the youths and women of Anambra South underscores his emphasis on inclusive representation, human capital development, community participation and the empowerment of the people as critical pillars of sustainable development in the district.
