A non religious and partisan organization based in the United States of America, the Abasi People Foundation (APF) has called for a Gulf of Guinea and Nigerian Eastern Economic Corridor Partnership.

The APF which comprises Efik, Ibibio, Annang, Oro, Ekoi, Ekid and Obolo people also called for a strategic partnership between Cross River State, Akwa lbomState, and the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio, to jointly position the Abasi People as a global community in the Gulf of Guinea.

A statement by the Chairman/CEO of the Foundation, Dr. Victor Udo said such collaboration “should extend to the coordinated development of the Nigerian Eastern Economic Corridor, beginning from Cross River State, Akwa lbom through, Ebony, Benue, Adamawa, Bauchi, and Borno States”.

This corridor, he said, has the potential to serve as a powerful engine for trade, energy, transport, and digital connectivity-unlocking jobs and investment opportunities across coastal and northern regions of Nigeria.

The Foundation commended the Governor of Cross River State, on the presentation of the 2026 “Budget of Inclusive Growth.”

“This realistic and inclusive fiscal plan demonstrates a strong commitment to people-centered governance and regional economic and sustainable development”, Udo said.

It commended Governor Otu for placing emphasis on agriculture, infrastructure, and youth empowerment.
