The Abia State Police Command has arrested a 49-year-old man, Prince Eguzouwa, suspected of dealing in hard drugs in Ahiabubi, Isiala Ngwa North Local Government Area of the state.
The command disclosed this in a press statement on Tuesday, saying the suspect was arrested by operatives of the Violent Response Unit and Anti-Cultism Unit during an intelligence-led raid on criminal hideouts in the community on September 18.
According to the police, bags containing substances suspected to be Cannabis Sativa, “Scottish Loud,” methamphetamine, cocaine and other hard drugs were recovered during the operation.
The command said the suspect, who was described as a suspected drug dealer within the community, was apprehended following actionable intelligence.
It added that after the conclusion of investigations, Eguzouwa was arraigned in court on Tuesday and remanded in a correctional facility.
The Commissioner of Police in Abia State, CP Wilfred Afolabi, reiterated the command’s commitment to intelligence-driven policing.
Afolabi also warned criminal elements to desist from unlawful activities, stating that the command would continue to take measures against criminal activities across the state.
