MAIDUGURI (CONVERSEER) – The Acting Governor of Borno State, Umar Usman Kadafur, has signed into law the 2026 Appropriation Bill, with a total budget size of ₦892.448 billion.

The assent ceremony took place at the Acting Governor’s Office in Maiduguri, the state capital.

The budget had been passed by the Borno State House of Assembly.

The Governor had initially presented ₦890.33 billion budget proposal to the Assembly for consideration with allocations cutting across ministries, departments, and agencies, with priority given to education, healthcare, poverty alleviation, and the rehabilitation and reintegration of internally displaced persons.

After thorough scrutiny, the House approved an increase of about ₦2.37 billion, bringing the total budget to ₦892.45 billion.
