The Wife of the Chairman of Akamkpa Local Government Area (LGA), Mrs Glory Felix Akposi has taken menstrual hygiene campaign to schools in the LGA.

Akposi who urged the pupils to remain clean to avoid contracting diseases, distributed free sanitary pads to female pupils in some secondary schools in the LGA.

A release from the Special Assistant to the Chairman of Akamkpa on Community Relations, Akorokpor Linus, said Akposi distributed the items and also paid three terms school fees to three students on Wednesday during her tour of schools in Akamkpa LGA to mark the World Menstrual Hygiene Day.

She also educated the students on the essence of menstrual hygiene in order to avoid diseases, noting that the exercise would help pupils in the proper usage, cost-effective solutions and how to make low-cost sanitary pads, which is life changing.
