Michael Lohan, father of actress Lindsay Lohan, is currently behind bars in a South Florida jail after being arrested for a probation violation linked to his estranged wife, Kate Major. The arrest occurred Sunday evening in West Palm Beach when sheriff’s deputies took Lohan into custody on a warrant issued by his probation officer, following an incident in February in Harris County, Texas.
In February, Lohan was arrested on charges of Continuous Violence Against the Family after allegedly assaulting Kate Major at her home, where she lives with their son. This arrest triggered an investigation by his probation officer, as Lohan had been serving probation for a 2022 conviction related to patient brokering involving a rehab facility he operates.
Being on probation means Lohan is prohibited from violating any laws, and his arrest in Texas led to the violation in Florida. Lohan’s attorney, Robert Gershman, denied the allegations, stating that Lohan has been compliant with his probation and that the claims made by Kate Major were false. Lohan himself insists that it is Kate who has been abusive toward him, claiming to have videos to support his version of events.
Lohan will now have the opportunity to present his case to a judge, who will decide whether he should be released from jail.
