The All Progressives Congress (APC) has allegedly pegged the Chairmanship and Councillorship forms at N15 million and N6 million, respectively, for the forthcoming Local Government elections in Cross River State.

The forms are broken down into Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms respectively.

According to The Beagle News, the Expression of Interest Form is N5 million and Nomination Form is N10 million, making it a total of N15 million for Chairmanship aspirants.

Also, the Expression of Interest Form is N1 million and the Nomination Form is N5 million, making it a total of N6 million for Councillorship aspirants.

An APC chieftain told this paper spoke off record, that, “We are worried at hundreds of aspirants that have resumed discreet campaigns for chairmanship seats even before the whistle for election is blown.

“Almost every local government area has over 10 aspirants carrying out consultations physically and on social media. If you go through WhatsApp platforms, you marvel as most of them have started reeling out their manifestos, promising heaven-on-earth, even when the party has issued election guidelines.

“Besides the high fees, zoning will be given top priority because APC believes totally in zoning. Remember that Governor Bassey Otu is a product of zoning. So, we shall give it a backing to curtail cry of marginalisation as well as trim down numbers of aspirants.

“But above all, party loyalty, capacity to deliver, team player, humility and acceptability by your community are some of the criteria that will be considered in deciding who flies the party’s flag in the pending council elections.”
