Erigga Apple Music announces Erigga as May's featured artist for Rap Life Africa

LAGOS – Rap Life Radio, presented by Ebro Darden, Apple Music’s Global Editorial Head of Hip-Hop and R&B, will feature Nigerian rap heavyweight, Erigga, this month. Ebro and Africa Now Radio host, Nandi Madida, chat about his seventh studio album, GOAT, available to stream now on Apple Music.

Making his long-awaited return with a project that cements his status as one of Nigeria’s most influential hip-hop voices, Erigga delivers a hard-hitting, introspective, and deeply personal body of work, featuring an exciting lineup of guest artists and top-tier producers

From street wisdom to real-life struggles and victories, Erigga offers his signature storytelling over diverse soundscapes, crafted by the likes of Critic Jed, Dummex, OG Sterling, Slimkay, AyeePEWRLD and more.

Alongside Erigga, Rap Life Radio will also feature South African rap icon Nasty C with his upcoming single “Psychic”, a confident, flex-heavy anthem that blends street swagger with sharp lyricism, and another so-called ‘Grootman’ of the South African industry, Kwesta, with his upcoming album, The Big Bro Theory.

Spotlight On

Born Erhiga Agarivbie in Warri, Delta State, Erigga was brought up speaking pure pidgin English, which explains his lyrical rap prowess. He is a unique cat in the music industry, and his music is widely accepted by many as ‘Nigerian street’—as the case may be.

First To Know

Bringing together a mix of street anthems, deep reflections, and pure hip-hop grit, as well as collaborations with some of the industry’s finest—Bella Shmurda, Phyno, Ajebo Hustlers, Great Adamz, Big Klef, JaQi, Kashcpt, and more—GOAT is set to be a defining moment in Erigga’s long-standing career.

Rap Life Africa serves as a companion to Apple Music’s flagship Hip-Hop playlist, Rap Life.
