Former Manchester United star, Patrice Evra has asserted that he would consume Lamine Yamal alive during his prime.
The Frenchman implies that Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi would concur with his capability to do so.
The Manchester United legend Evra played alongside Cristiano Ronaldo at Old Trafford prior to the Portugal star’s transfer to Real Madrid in 2009. He also encountered Messi on several occasions during his tenure with the Red Devils.
Reflecting on his prime as a footballer, the 45-year-old maintains that he would have outmatched Yamal in a confrontation.
Indeed, he said that he would ‘eat’ Yamal alive if they were to compete against each other during his peak performance days on the field.
Evra further stated that the footballers who are familiar with his playing style genuinely recognize how formidable an opponent he was throughout his career.
The former France international told ESPN UK, “Evra on his prime against Yamal, I would eat him alive. I’m sorry, Lamine. I love you… But ask Cristiano, ask Messi, ask other players when they faced me, I am not a good friend.”
Yamal is well-acquainted with proving his critics from France wrong. During the 2024 European Championship, Adrien Rabiot confronted Yamal before the semi-final match between France and Spain.
The Barcelona superstar responded impressively with what was deemed the goal of the tournament in that match and seemed to take a jab at Rabiot following the game.
