SC Freiburg goalkeeper Noah Atubolu made history during a thrilling 3-2 victory over Holstein Kiel on matchday 16 at the Europa-Park Stadion.

The 22-year-old goalkeeper achieved a remarkable feat by setting a new season record for speed, reaching an astonishing 32.5 km/h in a sprint early in the game, showcasing his athleticism and determination.

Born in Germany to Nigerian parents, Atubolu remains eligible to represent Nigeria, despite his involvement with Germany’s youth teams.

Atubolu’s quickness saw him narrowly beat Holstein Kiel’s Harres to a loose ball, clearing it just inches from the goal line.

This crucial intervention not only kept Freiburg’s clean sheet intact at the time but also earned Atubolu the title of the fastest goalkeeper in the Bundesliga this season.
