Professor Cyril Osim Ndifon hails from Ikom Local Government Area of Cross River State.
Ndifon is a lecturer in the Department of Jurisprudence and International Law, University of Calabar (UNICAL) and has been suspended twice as a lecturer and Dean of the Faculty of Law.
First, Prof. Cyril Ndifon was suspended in 2015 after a 20-year-old 400 Law student accused him of rape. He was later reinstated in 2017. However, following another protest by students of the Department of Law on August 14, 2023, Ndifon was issued another suspension by the University which took effect from Friday, August 18, 2023.
About Prof. Cyril Osim Ndifon
Professor Cyril Osim Ndifon is a Professor of Law at the University of Calabar, Calabar Nigeria. He holds an LL.B degree from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife (1989). He also holds two postgraduate degrees (LL.M and PhD) in Law.
He specialises in the areas of comparative criminal law, International humanitarian law and International criminal law. By dint of hard work, Prof Ndifon rose through the ranks to the position of a Professor in the Faculty of Law in 2012.
Professor Ndifon has held many positions of responsibility in the University of Calabar and beyond including Dean, Faculty of Law, Sub-Dean, Faculty of Law, Head of Department, Chairman, Faculty of Law Graduate Board and Examinations Officer.
Prof. Ndifon has also served as a member in various committees within the University such as the Senate Examination Malpractice Committee, Senate Examination Results Vetting Committee, Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit and Committee of Deans.
Prof. Ndifon is a consummate researcher with many academic papers published locally and internationally and therefore has many publications to his credit. He has attended many conferences where he presented papers within and outside the country. He has also supervised many undergraduate and postgraduate students and some of his supervisees are now Professors of law.
Professor Ndifon is also a member of such professional bodies as the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), National Association of Law Teachers, and International Literacy Association. Prof. Ndifon’s philosophy of life is Hard work and Enduring Courage.
