A source who spoke with SaharaReporters on Thursday confirmed that the monarch has been released by his abductors.
The traditional ruler of Igbesi community in Isin Local Government Area of Kwara State, Oba Moses Oyinloye Iwedunmoye I, the Kabiyesi Onigbesi of Igbesi land, has regained his freedom after being abducted by armed bandits.
A source who spoke with SaharaReporters on Thursday confirmed that the monarch has been released by his abductors.
“The Kabiyesi Onigbesi of Igbesi land was released today,” the source told SaharaReporters.
SaharaReporters had previously reported that the monarch was abducted after armed men invaded Igbesi community in Oke-Onigbin town, Isin Local Government Area, late Saturday night.
The attack occurred at about 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 22, 2026, when armed bandits stormed the community and abducted Oba Oyinloye.
Igbesi is a community within Oke-Onigbin town in the Isin Local Government Area of Kwara State, and falls within the Kwara South Senatorial District.
