Burkina Faso’s transitional president, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, is set to inaugurate a 4 billion CFA francs detergent plant in Pabré, on the northern outskirts of Ouagadougou, as part of the country’s ongoing industrial expansion.

The FASSI Detergent Industrial Complex (CIDF) is designed to produce a wide range of cleaning products, including powder detergents, liquid soaps, and solid soaps, with a daily production capacity of 300 tons.

The facility is expected to create 122 permanent jobs and nearly 1,600 seasonal jobs, strengthening Burkina Faso’s industrial and economic landscape.

This inauguration is part of a broader push by President Traoré’s administration to boost local manufacturing. In November 2024, he inaugurated a 7.5 billion CFA francs tomato processing plant in Bobo-Dioulasso, which created 1,500 direct and indirect jobs.

The Burkinabe government continues to prioritize industrial projects aimed at job creation, economic diversification, and national self-sufficiency.
