Can Cross Riverians Forget Ayade’s Clandestine Trait Of Hiding Palliatives?

2023: We’ll Eat Your Rice, Vote Against You – C’River Electorates Warn Politicians

Governor Ben Ayade with Ogoja Rice

By Monoba Moses

Riding in my most mundane concern over the ending phase of Governor Ben Ayade and his gimmick artifice, I drew holistic inspiration that it will be flapdoodle to release this epistle on the worker’s day, knowing thus well of their down-the-line commitment for our dear State despite their plague plight for the past eight years.

It is lamely pitiable to underscore and undermined the theory of accountability, which remains the chief cornerstone of democratic governance. It is true that the AYADE-led Government has been clouded with abysmal failure helplessly interwoven with bottomless carouses of lies and above all the clandestine trait of H.E. in concealing available pecuniary resources.

I write to express my deepest trouble over the tallied issues of abuse of power and corruption in Government, knowing thus far of the cloaked muteness expressed by my brothers from the other divide.

Cross Riverians cannot forget the accusation of the Federal Government to Cross River State over the misappropriation of N19billion, set out as a bailout fund to pay salaries and pensions in 2016, and the failure of the Governor to give detailed accounts of the alleged refund N18.4billion to the State by the Federal Government as reimbursement for road repairs in 2021.

To set the records straight, in receipt of the reports from the judicial panel regarding the EndSARS protest which incurred Cross River States as victims amongst other States. On the 15th day of October 2021, National Economic Council(NEC) chaired by H.E. Yemi Osinbajo resolved with a panel to make compensatory funds to victims via each affected State. It is on the desk recently that the Federal Government has released 21 Billion nairas to Cross River State for EndSARS destruction as an aid route for quick recovery.

We must also agree that is unfair, execrably sordid, and unsportsmanlike for His Excellency and his cronies to conceal the 21 billion nairas paid to Cross River State, perhaps it behooves us to ask the Governor why has such information not been pronounced, and it intents to the general public.

More worrisome, is the clandestine trait of the Governor in hiding sensitive information from the public, as antecedent proves right of His Excellency hiding palliatives and other FG funds to the State all veiled in gross misappropriation.

Another question worthy of asking is, what is the next Governor coming to meet in the Government House? Is it another incurable state of high indebtedness, or perceived imposition by the Grand Chief of Kakum, as his appointment list already hovers before the eyes of Prince Otu for the upcoming administration?

In concordance with this publication I freely write within the breadth and purpose of this piece, requesting the Governor to make a vivid pronouncement of the EndSARS compensation fund, and conceivably give a financial statement prior to this said fund.
