Chadian President Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno has signed a decree appointing the remaining 23 senators, just hours after the official proclamation of the senatorial election results.
The newly appointed senators include a majority of activists from the ruling Patriotic Salvation Movement (MPS), with notable figures such as Dr. Haroun Kabadi, former President of the National Assembly and MPS Secretary General, and Abdraman Koulamallah, former Minister of Foreign Affairs.
The opposition is also represented, with figures like Me Bongoro Théophile, president of PRET, Lydie Beassemda of the PDI, and Bourkou Louise Ngaradoumri among the appointees. Out of the 23 nominees, eight are women.
