Former Cross River North Senatorial Aspirant, Chief (Dr) John Onyi Agaba, has thrown his weight behind Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe, while reaffirming his loyalty to the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Chief Agaba made the declaration when Senator Jarigbe paid him a courtesy visit at his Abuja residence, in a meeting described as cordial, mature and brotherly.
Senator Jarigbe is the incumbent Senator representing Cross River North and has secured the APC ticket for the 2027 senatorial race.
Speaking during the visit, Chief Agaba said his political stance remains clear and unwavering.
“My position is clear. I remain fully committed and loyal to the APC in Cross River State. At the same time, I am throwing my full support behind Senator Jarigbe. His visit demonstrates that politics should be practised with maturity, respect and brotherhood beyond unnecessary divisions,” Agaba stated.
He noted that while political aspirations may differ, leaders must maintain meaningful relationships and engage constructively for the peace, unity and development of Cross River State.
He added that his political journey has always been driven by a desire to contribute to the growth of the state and the welfare of its people.
Chief Agaba thanked Senator Jarigbe for the visit, describing it as a demonstration that mutual respect and personal relationships can coexist with political engagement.
In his response, Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe thanked Chief Agaba for his warm reception and open-hearted disposition, describing him as a respected leader and a key stakeholder whose support is invaluable to the APC family in Cross River North.
