Cross River State indigenes are joining hands with the government to reinvent tourism in the state through the second edition of the Colours of Cross River State Art, Craft and Cultural Exhibition and Food Fair.

The week-long event, which will be held in November at multiple venues across the state, is aimed at showcasing the diversity and colours of the people of Cross River State.

The event will promote art, sculptures, paintings, and film, with the premiere of the epic movie Mutanda Oyom Nnamondo. The National Museum in Calabar and the Slave Museum, which tells the story of slavery in Nigeria, will also be celebrated.

The monoliths in Ikom will be beautified for visitors and tourists, so they can catch a glimpse of rare and ancient art, which is only second to the Nok culture.

The food festival will showcase rare meals and delicacies from the different districts of the state. There will also be daily performances from cultural and contemporary artists.

The Calabar Sports Club, the first social club in Nigeria, dating back to 1898, will also be celebrated.

The Colours of Cross River State Art, Craft and Cultural Exhibition and Food Fair will be rounded up with a Gala Night, called a night of glamour and awards.
