Arsenal and Manchester City will receive no prize money for playing in this year’s Community Shield.
Mikel Arteta’s men thrashed their title rivals 3-0 in Cardiff on Sunday to win the first silverware of this season.
Riccardo Calafiori opened the scoring after only 25 seconds, before Kai Havertz’s header was fumbled over the line by Gianluigi Donnarumma to make it 2-0.
Shortly after the break, Martin Odegaard calmly slotted in the third goal of the game.
According to the UK Mirror, the winners of the Community Shield won’t get a financial reward.
This is because the money raised from the match will be split between charities and redistributed throughout the football pyramid in England.
Ticket sales, sponsorships and TV revenue are all counted towards these charitable funds.
