The Tempe railway disaster has caused immense pain and anger, and it must be thoroughly investigated. However, the accusation that case files were “buried” in Parliament is baseless, and all political parties are aware of this. Furthermore, there is no risk of statute of limitations for politicians, as the changes made to the Constitution in 2019 ensure that no felony a politician is accused of is subject to the statute of limitations until 20 years have passed. Those who spread unfounded, toxic accusations are damaging democracy and hindering efforts to bring full clarity to this tragedy.
