in News

Lily Stewart, the University of Georgia student whose mug shot went viral last week, has been arrested again, TMZ has learned.

The 20-year-old college student was taken into custody early Sunday in Georgia, facing charges of obstruction of a law enforcement officer and loitering/prowling. Both charges are misdemeanors. Stewart remains in jail with her bail set at $4,000.

Viral Georgia Sorority girl Lily Stewart arrested again

Earlier this month, Stewart was arrested for speeding in excess of the maximum limits, another misdemeanor. Her attorney, Stephen Morris, confirmed that the speeding charge was dropped after he informed the prosecutor that Stewart had become a target for online trolls following the viral spread of her mug shot. Morris also explained that these trolls had made disturbing and vile comments about her.

In an interview last week, Stewart told TMZ that since her mug shot went viral, she has received hundreds of direct messages from men ranging from young, “corny” guys to older, “creepy” men. She also mentioned that some individuals had even offered to pay her bail during her previous arrest.
