Court Orders Extradition Of Abu Trica’s Associate Daniel Yusif To The United States

The Gbese District Court has ordered the extradition of Daniel Yusif, an alleged associate of Ghanaian socialite Frederick Kumi, popularly known as Abu Trica, to the United States to face trial over his alleged involvement in an $8 million romance fraud scheme.

According to court proceedings, Yusif has been granted 15 days to appeal the committal order. Should he fail to challenge the ruling within the stipulated period, the extradition process will proceed, subject to the necessary administrative approvals by the relevant authorities.

United States investigators allege that Yusif was part of a transnational cybercrime syndicate that operated alongside Abu Trica and other suspects.

Prosecutors claim the network orchestrated romance scams and Business Email Compromise (BEC) schemes, targeting victims and allegedly defrauding them of millions of dollars.

The latest court ruling comes amid ongoing legal proceedings involving Abu Trica, who was previously extradited to the United States and has pleaded not guilty to charges including conspiracy to commit wire fraud and conspiracy to commit money laundering.

Authorities in the United States have accused members of the alleged syndicate of using sophisticated online tactics to establish fraudulent relationships with victims before persuading them to transfer large sums of money under false pretences.
