C’River NDDC Representative Orok Duke celebrates Governor Otu at 66, describes him as ‘transformer’

L-R: Rt. Hon. Chief Orok Otu Duke, PhD; and Governor Bassey Edet Otu

By Frank Ulom

CALABAR (CONVERSEER) – The Cross River State Representative on the Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Rt. Hon. Chief Orok Otu Duke, PhD, has joined millions of well-wishers to celebrate the Governor of Cross River State, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, on the occasion of his 66th birthday, describing him as a leader who has transformed the state through visionary governance.

In a goodwill message issued on Saturday, Duke praised Governor Otu’s leadership for uplifting the lives of Cross Riverians through infrastructural growth, economic stability, healthcare delivery, education, employment generation, security, and tourism development.

“Sixty-six years ago, God brought in a child not only destined to lead the people of Cross River State but to wipe their tears and put a smile on their faces,” Duke said, adding that Governor Otu’s emergence came at the right time when the people yearned for a leader who listens, acts, and leads with compassion.

He noted that in the last two years, the Governor has repositioned the state for greatness, ensuring that the benefits of governance reach citizens in both rural and urban areas, from the hills of Obanliku to the creeks of Bakassi.

Duke commended the Governor for prioritising infrastructural development, quality healthcare, workers’ welfare, sports, education restructuring, security enhancement, and tourism promotion, stating that these efforts have significantly improved the state’s socio-economic outlook.

“For the past two years, you’ve been celebrating Cross Riverians from every aspect of life at both home and abroad, making sure everyone feels the sweet taste of governance. What more can the people desire?” he remarked.

He also reaffirmed the NDDC’s commitment to partnering with the state government to sustain development across all sectors.

As the Governor marks his 66th birthday, Duke wished him great wisdom, sound health, and prosperity as he continues to lead the state over the coming years.
