The former House of Representatives member representing Obudu/Bekwarra/Obanliku Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Legor Idagbo, has terminated his Senatorial race for Cross River North ahead of 2027.
Idagbo did so by stepping down for the incumbent, Sen. Jarigbe Agom, who is vying for a second term of a four-year tenure.
According to The Lumine News, the stepping down of Rt. Hon. Idagbo was disclosed at the Ogoja Local Government Council Hall today, April 30, 2026, the venue for National Assembly aspirant screening.
Speaking during the screening, Sen. Agom noted, “My brother Rt. Hon. Legor Idagbo and I have come here to tell you there is peace in Cross River North, and we have decided that we should present me for the election.”
The decision for Idagbo to step down for Agom, did not come as a surprise to many as power may rotate to OBO in 2031.
