Cross River to implement integrated measles vaccination in October

Cross River State has fixed the 5th to 13th of October for the commencement of the Implementation of Integrated Measles Vaccination Campaign.

This was disclosed in a notification signed by Dr Vivien Mesembe Otu, Director-General of the Cross River State Primary Health Care Development Agency, on 13th September.

According to Dr Otu, “The Cross River State Primary Health Care Development Agency, in collaboration with the State Ministry of Health and Partners, will commence the Implementation of Integrated Measles Vaccination Campaign from the 5th through 13th October 2024.”

Measles is a life-threatening disease caused by the measles virus that can spread from one infected person to another.

“During the campaign, other childhood vaccines will be given to children aged 023 Months, HPV for girls 9-14 years, MEASLES VACCINES 9-59 MONTHS of age. Train health workers will be at all health facilities and other designated places such as schools, churches, mosques, market, etc from 8 am to 2 pm.
