Damola Ilesanmi’s journey to a new job

He was offered a job at the Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust as an Organisational Development Systems Officer, after over a hundred trials.

Sharing his journey to joining the NHS, which happens to be his last post on LinkedIn, Damola Ilesanmi said “Perseverance Pays Off.”

“I am thrilled to announce that I have accepted an offer to join the Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust as an Organisational Development Systems Officer, a role I will resume in a few days.

“The job market in the United Kingdom is incredibly competitive, and the journey to this point has not been easy. Despite submitting hundreds of applications with numerous assessments, presentations, and interviews, I have never given up. Each rejection, although disheartening, especially after investing time in extensive tasks, has only fuelled my determination to keep pushing forward.

“However, through consistent effort and perseverance, I have learned that it will only take one YES to change everything. And recently, that YES finally came.

“My advice to international students and recent graduates who may be seeking a job is to please not give up, as your congratulations are around the corner.

“I am deeply grateful to the NHS for giving me this opportunity and I must say that one of the things that interests me most about this role is the focus on Organisational Development. The chance to contribute to projects that drive organisational growth and efficiency is exciting.

“I look forward to bringing my skills and passion to the team and contributing to such a vital organisation. I am excited to embark on this new chapter with the NHS

“Thank you to everyone who supported me along the way,” his last LinkedIn post said.
