Android Headline published a blog post yesterday (31st July), revealing that Google Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL phones can “record” 8K videos through the “Video Boost” function.
“Video Upscaling” is a feature that Google first launched in the Pixel 8 Pro mobile phone last year.
Officials said that it allows users to create videos with higher quality, better lighting effects, colours, and details, especially in low-light environments.

However, there is one limitation if users want to record 8K videos. Before using the “Video Enhancement” feature, users need to back up their videos to the Google Photos app.
The video can only be converted to 8K video after it is successfully backed up, which means that the relevant operations are completed entirely in the cloud, and users will not see the 8K 30FPS resolution shooting option during the shooting process.
