The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC Secretary, Dr George Abang Ekpungu and his wife, Mrs Aggie Abang Ekpungu have escaped death.
CONVERSEER learned that Ekpungu and his wife were bashed by another vehicle on Saturday, May 20, 2023, in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.
According to George Odok Jnr., the EFCC Secretary and his wife came out unhurt while their vehicle was grossly damaged after it somersaulted three times.
Odok said Ekpungu and his wife were coming back from the morning mass at the Pro-Cathedral Catholic Church, Abuja when the accident happened – and were saved by the car’s airbag.
“The accident occurred at the traffic light from Apo bridge in Abuja when a Honda Hala bashed his Lexus car and the car somersaulted over three times.
“The Secretary and his wife were saved by the car’s airbags and the seat belts, which they both had on.
“This is why it is important and encouraging for drivers to always use their seat belts while driving.
“The Secretary and his dear wife are fine and back home after a thorough examination by medical professionals.
“We give God the glory for showing Himself at their very point of need”, Odok posted on Facebook.
