Former Manchester United player, Michael Owen has predicted that Arsenal will win the Premier League title this season.
He also predicted the top five teams and the three bottom sides at the end of the season.
The new season kicked off on Friday with champions Arsenal beating Coventry City 3-0 at the Emirates Stadium.
In a post on X, the former England striker expressed his belief that the Gunners will successfully defend their title.
He said Chelsea will finish second, while Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur will occupy the third, fourth and fifth spots, respectively.
Regarding the teams expected to be relegated at the end of the season, Owen identified Fulham, along with newly promoted Ipswich Town and Hull City, as the teams likely to drop.
He wrote: “I thought I’d post my season predictions for the top five and bottom three. A little bit out of the ordinary, but I didn’t just want to go for the usual and slightly boring ones.
“Top Five: Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United, Spurs. Bottom Three: Fulham, Ipswich Town, Hull City. Let me know your thoughts.”
Owen did not include Manchester City in his top-five predictions.
The Cityzens parted ways with their iconic manager, Pep Guardiola, at the end of the 2025-26 season and will begin the new campaign under a different manager for the first time since 2016, with Enzo Maresca taking charge.
Owen’s prediction suggests a significant revival for Chelsea and Tottenham following their lacklustre 2025-26 seasons.
The Blues finished 10th last season, while Spurs narrowly escaped relegation by finishing 17th.
