The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) will arraign the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (MD/CEO) of MTN Nigeria Communications Plc, Mr. Karl Toriola, at the Federal High Court, Abuja, for alleged breach of act on May 28.

Toriola will be arraigned alongside MTN Nigeria and a few others for alleged failure to produce documents and information required by the commission in compliance with a lawful summons contrary to the FCCPC Act.

Other defendants are MTN’s Chief Corporate Services and Sustainability Officer, Tobechukwu Okigbo, and the General Manager, Regulatory Affairs of MTN, Ikenna Ikeme.

When the matter was called on Tuesday, the defendants were not in court.

When Justice H.J. Yilwa asked the FCCP lawyer, Chizenum Nsitem, about the whereabouts of the defendants, he said although the matter was scheduled for their arraignment, he was just briefed about the case and would need more time to study the case file.

The judge, thereafter, adjourned the matter till May 28 for arraignment.
