FG approves promotion of 24,202 senior paramilitary officers

ABUJA (CONVERSEER) – The Federal Government under the Ministry of Interior has approved the promotion of 24,202 senior officers across the paramilitary agencies.

The promotion follows the meeting of the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB), chaired by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.

Briefing after the meeting, Secretary of the Board, Major General Abdulmalik Jibrin (rtd.), said all officers who sat for and passed the promotion examinations were elevated.

The newly promoted officers will constitute the second batch of senior personnel elevated in 2025.

The affected agencies are the Nigerian Correctional Service, Nigeria Immigration Service, Federal Fire Service, and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.

The breakdown of the figures for each service is:

Correctional Service – 11,426
Immigration Service – 4,336
Federal Fire Service – 2,581
Civil Defence Corps – 5,859
